The InterContinental
Hotels Group (IHG®) properties in Dubai Festival City consist of three hotel
brands. These include the luxury brand InterContinental, the superior upscale
Crowne Plaza and the lavish long-stay InterContinental Residence Suites. In
addition to over 1000 bedrooms, the three properties boast a selection of high
quality restaurants and bars, an impressive 3,800 square meter Event Centre
across two levels, the 5,000 square meters Festival Arena by InterContinental, the
luxurious Spa InterContinental, state-of -the-art gymnasium facilities, and
swimming pool facilities.

This role reports
directly to the
Assistant
Director of Corporate/MICE Sales
and indirectly reporting to the Director of Sales at IHG® Dubai
Festival City. As the
Account Manager Corporate Sales & MICE
,
you must
proactively create and
convert revenue opportunities for the IHG Dubai Festival City from qualified
corporate key accounts by planning and executing sales activities based on
strategies and financial targets (
hotel revenue,
room night goals) outlined in the
Hotel’s annual SBRP.
The key responsibilities
are:
·
Drive
Total Revenue (Room, C&B;, F&B;) and sell to new, existing and
prospective customers considering goals set forth in the sales strategy,
negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the business.
·
Gain
depth knowledge about the business model , concept, market dynamics and trends,
exhibitions and geographic areas of the client portfolios that is managed
·
Develop
relationships across all business units beyond the local market towards GCC and
Levant Region based offices and possibly in the Americas, Europe as well as
APAC within the client’s organization.
·
To
utilize IHG® sales tools in an appropriate manner to ease work processes and
make the same more efficient and transparent - IBP, Delphi, I-RFP, IHG® Merlin,
IHG Sales Source, AMG and IHG Business Club.
·
Consistently
communicate “within” to share market intelligence, provide feedback and ensure
customer awareness with the Hotels and to ensure planning and coordination of
sales.
·
Travel
when required to promote the hotel and develop potential business in other
markets.
·
80
sales calls per month.
·
Where
appropriate, entertain clients in nearby IHG® hotel outlets to sell the hotel facilities. Make reservations at non-peak times in order
to allow the outlet to provide the best service. Adhere to all Accounting policies regarding
payment.
·
Monitors
competitors activities and assists in marketing intelligence
·
Ensure
up to date knowledge of market dynamics locally in Dubai and UAE, regionally
and internationally to provide valuable input towards hotel’s strategy
development plan.
·
Build
up market and product knowledge about golf business, short- and long term
serviced apartment rental as well as 5* Corporate, and MICE business in Dubai.
·
Builds
profile within local market place through attendance at various events and
local market place
·
Plan
and conduct familiarization trips and site inspections.
·
Sells
to new, existing and prospective customers considering goals set forth in the
sales strategy, negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the business
·
Analyses
sales mix and likely impact on hotel goals. Assess sales and marketing data.
·
Contribute
to monthly reports on segment performance
·
Establish
proficiency level in IHG® SBRP system to obtain relevant data necessary for
decision making and to be able to enter data and business plans to be shared
with hotel and IHG stakeholders
·
Develop
and maintain a regular pattern of sales calls, meeting with principals of
target market
·
Ensure
client files are kept organized and current with all required information.
·
Weekly/monthly
reports on activities and Sales Trips or Trade show visits.
·
Updates
Delphi, Opera and manual files.
·
Refers
sales leads to appropriate personnel within IHG® utilizing meeting broker and
I-lead sales programs
·
Establish
proficiency level in IHG® SBRP system to obtain relevant data necessary for
decision making and to be able to enter data and business plans to be shared
with hotel and IHG® stakeholders
·
Actively
solicit and book business following hotel standards.
·
Attend
Industry Exhibitions to represent the hotels in front of prospect clients.
·
Grows
existing business and establishes and pursues leads which will develop business
·
Initiates
and prepares tenders for business
·
Monitors
existing business and inputs into sales strategy meetings to maximize business.
·
Services
existing business through management of account bases
·
Manage
Accounts and ensure the constant generation of new corporate prospects for self
Qualifications
Ideally,
you'll have some or all of the following qualifications and experience
we're looking for:
Required Skills:
·
Good communication and administrative skills
·
Ability to be self-motivated organized and demonstrates
good team work
·
Fluency in English
·
Computer literacy (Microsoft applications - Opera,
Delphi)
·
Pro-active approach and the ability to meet
deadlines
·
Minimum of 1 year experience in the service
industry and Sales & Marketing environment
·
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or
Equivalent
