Art Specialist
The Art Specialist is responsible for design and layout of marketing material as requested and briefed by the flydubai Marketing Department. Leading the strategic design development and ensuring creative excellence of project deliverables. The Art Specialist is supported by a graphic designer and artworker in the first instance and later a copywriter, this team forms the Content and Graphics Unit (CGU). The CGU is managed by the Production Manager who is the key point of contact. A motivated self-started and people person, able to nurture creativity within the CGU. With continuous industry research the Art Specialist is always up to date with current digital, print and Art trends.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Activities
1. Work with the Production Manager to keep up-to-date and informed about the marketing requirements across the business
2. Feedback on performance to the Production Manager at the close of each project to identify areas for development and performance management
3. Support departmental processes by utilising all the appropriate systems and procedures
4. Ensure that quality control systems and processes are strictly followed for all project deliverables
5. Be responsible and accountable for delivering all project KPIs – time, cost and scope
6. Ensure the flydubai guidelines are followed and brand integrity is preserved through constant scrutiny throughout the business and market
7. Understand market initiatives, strategic positioning and target audience
8. Take projects from concept to final execution within deadlines, present completed ides to team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
• University Education – equivalent work experience
Experience
• Industry professional with 5-8 years’ experience
• Client-side experience is useful
• Agency experience is preferred
Knowledge / Skills
• Strong conceptual thinker able to communicate effectively across various mediums such as below the line print and web
• Strong branding portfolio and proven track record
• Be involved in New Initiatives from start to finish ensuring it is on brand with the correct look and feel
• Thorough understanding of colour usage and image selection
• Gain understanding of market and business to ensure communication is relevant and effective
• Oversee and mentor designer with regards to brand and market requirements
• Self-motivated and deadline driven, able to work well under pressure
• Good research skills, ability to work closely with stakeholders
• Work closely with Copywriter (when joined) to create and develop campaigns and brand requirements
• Accurately interpret briefs
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to multitask
• Deadline driven
• Liaise with stakeholders and colleagues, meet project teams and consider brand and advertising requirements
• Proficient in latest Art software and printing techniques
