Hotel Overview:
Fairmont The Palm is a luxury, world-class resort located on the iconic Palm Jumeirah Island in Dubai. The hotel features 381 guest rooms and suites with dedicated Fairmont Gold rooms and lounge. A total of six food and beverage outlets on property plus 24-hour in-room dining—offer a mix of culinary and entertainment options that mirror Dubai’s cosmopolitan air including a Mediterranean and a Brazilian churrasco experience. Fairmont The Palm also features an expansive pool and beach area with a health club, Willow Stream Spa and the Fairmont Falcons Juniors’ Club.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Fairmont Gold Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Coordinating all aspects of the Fairmont Gold floor to ensure the smooth operation and highest level of guest

satisfaction at all times as well as Fairmont Gold standards are adhered.

Ensuring that all team members have the necessary resources available to exceed guest expectations

Ensures perfect arrival process for all our guests by focusing on pre arrival, arrival and departure standards and procedures

Provide exceptional Concierge information to our guests about local and area attractions, restaurants, theatres, special events, tickets, confirmations and other available services

Develop and maintain strong guest relationships to ensure Fairmont Gold loyalty

Consistently seeking ideas for enhancing the Fairmont Gold product and services

Maintaining communication with all departments within the hotel to ensure that Fairmont Gold standards are delivered on a consistent basis

Facilitate the Training & development of the Fairmont Gold Team. Participate in the Training & Communication process

of all colleagues providing service to Fairmont Gold.

Reviews arrival reports and VIP’s to ensure all special requirements are met or exceeded

Tracking and forecasting daily, weekly and monthly Fairmont Gold occupancy

Supervising all contributing staff members who provide services to the Fairmont Gold area to ensure that the

appropriate services levels are provided and achieved at all times

Ensure proper scheduling in accordance to productivity guidelines

Involvement with training, development and performance management of all Fairmont Gold colleagues

Participating in recruitment and training of new Fairmont Gold colleagues

Attending Department Head meetings in the absence of the Fairmont Gold Manager and attend Department

Communication meetings of other Departments representing Fairmont Gold

Propose and facilitate innovative, cost-effective guest experience enhancements

Be accountable for operational costs and expenses - Monthly Profit & Loss Statement/Adherence to budget

Maintaining and reporting deficiencies in the department and knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures

Develop and maintain strong guest relationships to ensure Fairmont Gold loyalty

Handle guest concerns and react quickly, logging and notifying proper areas

Work with the Culinary team to determine the daily Fairmont Gold Lounge menu

Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs

Follow all safety policies

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Passion for guest service

Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and leadership skills

Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity

Proven ability to inspire a team to achieve the ultimate luxury experience

Must have a proven record of exceeding Guest expectations and commitment to Guest Service

Must be an innovator, with the mindset of constantly analyzing our product and services

Passionate about Guest Service, relentless in creating “wow” experiences

Self-motivator with the initiative and ability to complete projects in a timely manner and great organizational skills with a

proven ability to work under pressure

An operational knowledge and proficiency in Front Office Systems-Micros-Fidelio and Microsoft Office suite (Word,

Excel, PowerPoint)

Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset

A working knowledge of a second language and its application in the hotel/ hospitality industry is an asset

Previous Property Management System experience required

Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required

University/College degree in a related discipline an asset

Must possess a professional presentation

Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

Highly responsible & reliable

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

Ability to work cohesively as part of a team

Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
