ASSISTANT MANAGER-PROCUREMENT

  • POSITION PURPOSE:
  • Responsible for ensuring timely procurement of the materials and formulations of long & short term strategic plans. Strong analytical thinking and should be able to decide negotiation strategy. Strong knowledge of commercial terms used. Involved in Department coordination & Inter Departmental relations. Identifying and developing alternate vendor source.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND BASIC DUTIES:
    • 1. Conduct market and supplier analysis to identify market trends for opportunities to reduce cost.
    • 2. Alternate sourcing, pricing, and bidding of products with High negotiation skills.
    • 3. Assign, co-ordinate and review projects and programs.
    • 4. Supports Senior Manager in floating requests for quotations, evaluating the commercial bids, coordinating the technical evaluation, negotiating all purchase requisitions with vendors, ensuring the purchase orders are issued.
    • 5. Oversee the evaluation of the cost and quality of goods or services.
    • 6. Manage contracts, Review and process claims against supplier
    • 7. The analysis of data and information
    • 8. Oversee the preparation of reports
    • 9. Process Improvements and Process expertise for Procurement & Stores
    • 10. Commodity Management support (Assisting in Implementing process improvements and Supplier Integration, etc.)
    • 11. Performs and manages day-to-day data collection, implementation, supplier improvement and process improvement in order to achieve effective competitive supply chains.
    • 12. Promotes communication across the organization to identify and drive toward common policies and best practices to achieve cost reduction.
    • 13. Other duties as assigned.

    Desired Candidate Profile:
    • B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
    Experience Required:
    • 7 to 8 years.
    • Nationality: Indian Nationality.
    • Candidate must be experienced in procurement and negotiate with vendors to achieve optimum cost and quality within the budget.
    • Skills: Clear and precise communication skills (written and oral) required.
    • Ability to utilize available resources effectively.
    • Ability to interact with people and develop good working relationships.
    • Good skills in Microsoft Office Packages (Word, Excel & Outlook)
    • Ability to organize and maintain documents efficiently.
    • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and deliver on time.
    • Competent negotiator and influencer.
    • Commercially focused with proven track record of delivering cost and process efficiencies.
    • Well-developed commercial understanding and numeracy.
    • Track record of delivering procurement savings.
