Associate Field Engineer

Description

To support senior field engineers for the offshore campaign and when required will be sent offshore for installation campaigns and for onshore for follow ups.
  • Ensures that all work is carried out in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Actively participates in project task risk assessment and implements recommendations.
  • Recommends changes in the technical details, drawings to result in safer and better installation procedures.
  • Reviews project drawings and documents and reports any discrepancies, errors or omissions to the Project Manager with respect to the information required to perform the work.
  • Ensures the work is within the capabilities of the proposed equipment.
  • Maintains project files in the office and in the field in accordance with project requirements.
  • Develops loadout and seafastening plans for the transportation of materials and structures to the offshore site that facilitate safe and timely installation.
  • Prepares material lists for construction materials and project consumables and liaises with the Procurement Coordinator for requirements.
  • Issues Loadout Lists applicable to the work in accordance with the recommended practices.
  • Coordinates with Marine Operations, Equipment & Machinery and Diving departments to ensure that the necessary equipment and personnel are available and for the project.
  • Witnesses and inspects pre-rigging, loadouts, seafastening and acknowledges the receipt of fabricated structures, line pipe and other materials to be installed offshore.
  • Develops checklists and inspects loadouts in accordance with Level 2 procedures.
  • Coordinates with the Production Engineers to verify loadouts of fabricated items required for the project.
  • Liaises with the Operations Engineer, customer representatives and various subcontractor representatives at the offshore site. • Ensures the contract and project related documentation is maintained and transmitted to the customer at the site.
  • Monitors the progress of the worksite conditions and advises the Operations Engineer of any developments that may result in changes to the project schedule or execution sequence.
  • Advises the Barge Superintendent or barge staff including subcontractors regarding the planning, execution, contractual and technical aspects of the work. • Issues field sketches, data sheets and checklists for the barge staff.
  • Participates in the resolution of any technical problems arising during offshore installation and assists in the formulation of the corrective action requirement.
  • Plans and supervises the execution of pipeline pigging and testing operations in accordance with approved project procedures. • Prepares documentation and records in accordance with the contract requirements and approved project indices.
Requirements

Education: • Degree in Engineering, preferably in Civil or Mechanical

Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of Marine operations/field engineering
