Clinical Director, Acute and Critical Care
Job Description
This position is responsible for coordinating a variety of comprehensive multi-disciplinary patient-centered programs across the nursing continuum and creating a culture that promotes an environment of healing by focusing on the emotional and physical well-being of patients and staff. This position has explicit ownership/responsibility for outcomes and providing overall administrative management and support for evidence based nursing laborates with nurse and physician leadership in strategic and operational planning related to current and future programsDirects and coordinates management of all assigned nursing areas, which includes administrative supervision of assigned care units, budget review and approval (fiscal responsibility), authorization of capital expenditures and the development of staffHelps develop educational programs and resources to support best nursing practices and specialty needsLeads and directs the inpatient and outpatient nurse managers in providing consultationServes as a resource to staff regarding nursing practicesEnsures that nursing and clinical practice is in accordance with the philosophy, standards and objectives of CCADEncourages and supports nursing research projects and outcome studies that will enhance the knowledge, skills and expertise of care providersAnalyzes patient and employee satisfaction results and develops strategies for improvement in all assigned areas of responsibilityFacilitates the incorporation of patient safety and Magnet principles into clinical nursing careMinimum of eight (8) years post graduate experience is requiredMinimum of two (2) years experience in an assistant director of nursing position, or equivalent, or four (4) years experience in a senior charge nurse position in an acute care tertiary hospital is requiredDemonstrated knowledge and skills in nursing managementStrong analytical abilitiesStrong organizational and leadership skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to speak and write in English is requiredAbility to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferredManagerial and/or supervisory experience is requiredNursingAll employees will embrace the CCAD mission, vision and values and be responsible for adhering to the core values of the institution, including: Patient’s First, Collaboration, Mutual Respect, Quality, Patient Safety, Integrity, Cultural Sensitivity and Compassion.
