All tasks and activities assume close co-operation and joint working with our education service partner in Dubai, Study World, and the Heriot-Watt University marketing, communication and student recruitment teams based in Edinburgh and Malaysia.
Under the direction of the Head of Marketing and Student Recruitment:
1. To build a clear evidence-led understanding of our internal and external stakeholders, their needs and behavioral drivers so as to deliver insightful and targeted communication campaigns with clear and relevant messages and calls to action.
2. To manage the messages for the Dubai campus, operationally delivering a demonstrably effective communication plan and associated campaigns which build brand advocates and enhance our reputation.
3. To develop and maintain high quality, accurate, dynamic content for the campus, digital (website CMS and CRM) and print channels including video, images, animations and copy.
4. To develop and execute brand-led campus publications, marketing collaterals, and social media campaigns using various social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.
5. To deliver significant positive coverage of the university in social media/media working closely with senior managers, external partners/organizations, academic/school colleagues and students.
6. To handle media enquiries and proactively build an excellent working relationship with the media and key influencers along with any retained agencies so as to achieve excellent media coverage for the university.
7. Ensure the brand is represented correctly in line with guidelines and act as a conduit for feedback/approvals of all marketing materials.
8. To support the delivery of demonstrably effective corporate events and VIP visits (on and off campus) working closely with external partners/organizations, senior managers, academic/school colleagues and current students.
- Minimum qualification: First Degree
Education:
- Formal education to degree level or equivalent.
- Or equivalent experience working in corporate communication, public relations or media relations
Desirable:
- Degree in English, Journalism or corporate communication/PR
- Relevant professional development and memberships (e.g. CIPR)
Experience:
- developing and delivering effective communication campaigns and activities
- utilizing online platforms to deliver effective communication with a range of audiences
- developing and delivering creative content on social media, web CMS platforms and in print.
- delivering demonstrably effective communication events.
Competencies, skills & knowledge:
- Exemplary written and spoken English with the ability to produce copy for different audiences
- Creative flair and keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with strong organisational skills
- Competent and confident user of digital communication platforms
- Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills and the ability to convey information to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels
- Travel involved: Moderate Travel
