Corporate Paralegal - FDI - Dubai

Paralegal – Foreign Direct Investment (Dubai) Background Our Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) team forms part of the firm's corporate group. We advise clients on market entry into the UAE and wider region, the structuring and re-structuring of regional operations and a range of other regulatory and corporate licencing issues. Job purpose To play an integral role in the firm's FDI team, to support more senior members of the team and to coordinate client matters on a day to day basis. Key responsibilities • Draft documents, including resolutions, powers of attorney, letters and certain agreements

• Liaise with government authorities in relation to the establishment of companies incorporated with limited liability and the registration of branch offices

• Liaise with our Knowledge Management team to update and maintain FDI precedents

• Assist clients in managing and maintaining their existing corporate registrations

• Carry out research including in respect of corporate licencing and regulatory matters

• Communicate directly with clients, via email, telephone or in person

• Take full responsibility for and manage matters through to completion with the support of more senior members of the team

• Liaise and coordinate with our Corporate Services team

• Provide assistance where required to the wider corporate group Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will:

• be educated to at least degree level; a formal legal or paralegal qualification is desirable

• have at least two years experience working in a professional environment; law firm experience is desirable

• have experience of dealing with government authorities in the UAE, establishing companies and some knowledge of the legal and business environment in the UAE

• have good interpersonal and communication skills and a strong work ethic

• be fluent in written and spoken Arabic and English

• be a team player, but able to work autonomously

• have strong attention to detail and good organisation skills

• be commercially aware and able to take a practical approach to matters

• be confident interacting directly with clients, in person, over the phone and in written correspondence
