Country Manager, United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Dollar Shave Club, one of the fastest-growing online grooming businesses in the is expanding into the UAE, and we’re looking for a Country Manager to build our UAE business.

If you have experience in international business development, UAE markets, and you have a proven track record excelling in a startup, e-commerce environment, then this role is for you.

The Ideal Candidate:

With your history-making vision and tenacity, you will directly impact how we evolve and grow our global business. You will develop and scale our UAE business by bringing our brand experience and customer value proposition to UAE consumers. This is a true General Management mandate – from converting consumer and market insights into a strong business strategy and plan, determining the best way to market and commercialize our products, forming key local partnerships, building a hard-working UAE-based team, and running our UAE operations. We are looking for a passionate, customer-obsessed candidate to join our team as our GCountry Manager, the UAE.

Responsibilities:

The Country Manager, UAE directs and coordinates business activities against long-range and short-term profitability and business growth goals and objectives for our UAE business.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Lead the opportunity analysis across key markets, determining the best strategy for developing and scaling an online men’s grooming business in the UAE
  • Work with the DSC Headquarters team to understand the brand and customer experience standards, product portfolio, and current channel strategies to determine how to bring the DSC experience to key markets
  • Build and lead a cross-functional UAE team with the right breadth of online/grooming experience as well as depth of knowledge of the marketplace
  • Collaborate with key internal and external partners through the business development process, building strong relationships and the best possible experience for consumers
  • Launch the UAE business, ensuring that the right infrastructure is in place to sustain a successful venture
  • Continually review and monitor market conditions and business performance to determine what actions we need to take to deliver against our topline growth objectives – both financial and brand KPI’s.
  • Direct team to focus on specific business objectives based on cost, operational and forecast data as well as current performance against our growth goals and objectives
  • Advise the rest of the Exec Team to review and adjust macro company goals and objectives based on market needs and business performance
  • Manage ongoing KPI (growth) performance to ensure ROI of investments in the UAE (P&L; authority)
  • Execute in an intense, fast-paced, and highly iterative environment
Role Requirements :
  • Proven commercial leadership with business development and operational experience at start-ups or large consumer Internet/technology companies
  • Proven track record of developing, launching and managing online business endeavors in key UAE markets.
  • Deep insights on UAE markets, consumers, and shoppers
  • Extensive knowledge of online business models, specifically online retail
  • Highly strategic and capable of building strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent team development and people management skills
  • High standards of professionalism
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Creative, resourceful, detail-oriented, and highly organized
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet multiple objectives in an entrepreneurial environment with little supervision
  • Extensive negotiation experience, including comfort with legal and financial aspects of negotiations
  • Prior experience working in a high-growth or start-up technology company preferred
  • 12-15 years of international business experience, with significant experience in the UAE
