Design Engineer

MWH, now part of Stantec, is currently seeking a Design Engineer to be based in our Dubai office. Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to: 1. The Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and liaison with the all required authorities. candidate must have intensive knowledge in pipelines hydraulics and designing of pressure pipelines, sewerage, rising mains, pumping station design and all aspects as may be required by the Client. understanding and previous experience in urban drainage, and hydraulic design of sewers. Carrying out work to agreed budgets and timelines •Assist with the preparation of cost estimates for project design and construction. and working as part of a team •Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required. •Work under the direction of the Lead Civil Engineer; •Conduct field inspections under the supervision of the Lead Civil Engineer, and Client Engineer representative. •Liaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate completion of tasks, and project. •Good communicator. Service Management •Internal and external client liaison •Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships •Experience in utility diversions and management safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner. •Complete all work in line with MWH Core Values and in accordance with the MWH Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures. •Design for safety, Construction Design Management. duties as requested from time to time by the Lead Civil Engineer. -Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering -Chartership or other engineering accreditation is a requirement -10-15 years experience in civil and mechanical aspects of water infrastructure design. Well-versed in detailed design and engineering of Sewage treatment plants / Wastewater treatment plants / Effluent treatment plants, pumping stations and pipelines. - Experience working in the GCC. -Well conversant of the layout plans, Hydraulic Flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams, piping drawings and General arrangement drawings and should have the experience of preparing these. -Ability to carry out the basic calculations required for preparing the detailed design documents. #LI-SK1
