Applications are invited for the position of Senior Finance Manager – General Ledger, Management Accounting and Reporting.

The jobholder is responsible for all aspects of financial accounting and reporting for the EKFC Group. Providing robust, complete, accurate and timely information to support management decision-making and maximise profitability. The job holder provides financial analysis to support business planning, projects, reporting and strategic and operational decision making and will establish and maintain financial procedures and controls, ensures financial strategy to create projections based on feasibility studies. He/she will have the additional responsibility of Treasury operations, Working Capital Management and taxation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensuring staff are professionally supervised, trained and motivated to achieve the objectives agreed upon whilst providing the necessary guidance whenever required.
  • Supporting the Assistant Vice President Finance in making appropriate recommendations for business process improvements to improve efficiency within the Finance team
  • Develop, implement and maintain an effective planning and analysis capability that will provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals.
  • Providing commercial and financial support to Senior Management with necessary financial forecasts, reports and insights facilitating business critical decisions.
  • To be accountable to conduct periodical review of all financial policies, practices, corporate goals and planning financial controls on projects, exploring potential problems or opportunities.
  • Optimise the handling of bank relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
  • Advice on Tax planning to mitigate any adverse impact of tax on working capital
  • Champion key initiatives and projects for finance department in the areas of process improvement, function transformation, new business initiatives etc.
  • Develop and support strong external relationships with bankers, investment advisors, legal counsel, auditors and other service providers of EKFC
  • Responsible for planning and managing cash flow, ensuring financial transactions are authorised, controlled and recorded.
  • Evaluation of Key Risk Factors (Credit Risk, Liquidity Risk, Market Risk) and monitoring overall Financial Risk profile of the company to ensure good Corporate Governance
  • Preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports, profit and loss statements, balance sheet, cash flow statements and consolidated report for Emirates Flight Catering and subsidiaries.
  • Preparing budget and forecast for the individual business units and implementing performance rating measures for respective units.
  • Responsible for managing external and internal auditors by providing all the data and necessary information by coordinating effectively with the internal team.
  • To consult to management and business heads by working closely with them in guiding and controlling on day-to-day aspects related to revenue, budget and variances and/or on any other financial analysis
  • Identifies and reports ways in which results can be achieved.
  • Proactively develops new and re-engineers current processes to reduce quality concerns and increase efficient and flexibility.
  • Ensure that all administrative operations of the department, including maintaining of all documentation and filing systems are carried out systematically and effectively.
  • Provides leadership in implementation of VAT and other relevant taxes within EKFC.
  • Develop credibility for the finance department by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the Chief Executive Officer, the Board, and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
  • Proactively communicate with auditors with regards to all audit matters in order to ensure that the company’s interests are safeguarded.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Comply with all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls
Requirements and Competencies

Qualification:
  • Chartered Accountant qualification.
  • Thorough knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS).
  • Extensive experience in Accounting and financial management, budgeting reporting and forecasting and internal control systems.
  • Substantial experience in in JD Edwards or a similar ERP system
 Experience:
  • 10 years’ progressive experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior Finance management accountancy role.
  • An Indirect Tax Professional with at least three to 5 years’ experience
  • VAT advisory experience or work in a VAT environment  is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff using a structured management framework to link corporate objectives and individual performance.
