Fire and Life Safety Specialist
My Client is a leading consultant on a global scale, providing services within 60 countries. Their iconic work has won multiple industry awards. They have a particular expertise in complex projects that require the coordination, contribution and management of many specialists and disciplines. As a result this has set the pace and standard for other projects worldwide. Their aim is to provide technical and management services to the highest professional standards within budget and on time.
My client is looking for someone to hit the ground running and enhance the team. The Fire and Life Safety Specialist will be working on many prestigious projects.They will be involved in coordinating (as a technical advisor) between the architects, engineers, developers, contractors etc. in interpreting and enforcing fire protection requirements, fire and life safety codes, regulations and standards; investigates and prepares recommendations for alternate materials and methods.
Responsibilities
• Prepare, Review and approve drawings and documents (including the specifications) for complex fire suppression, fire detection, high piled storage or hazardous materials installations.
• Review life safety submittals and fire protection systems for compliance with the adopted fire and life safety codes, regulations and standards.
• Prepare reports and correspondence pertaining to fire and life safety codes.
• Disseminate information regarding new technological developments impacting the Fire and life safety unit activities and procedures.
• Attend field inspections of construction sites for compliance with all fire code requirements
• Bachelor of Architecture or Civil Engineering degree from a reputable university (Masters is a plus)
• Minimum 20 years of experience as Fire and Life Safety Specialist for the construction industry
• Thorough knowledge of NFPA/International fire codes/Local fire codes in the Middle East and GCC: Fire protection, Alarm systems, Hydraulic design to fire sprinkles system, Air distribution system, Smoke detection, containment and evacuation
• Current with Green material and LEED
• Excellent command of the English language
