Head of Credit Risk
Ensure quality assets are booked in the Bank's portfolio and Special Assets are managed and resolved:
• To approve credits and restructured credits within own individual discretion;
• Credit - To supervise a team of Credit Managers & Analysts, who will, in turn, review, recommend, gain approval for and
communicate the credit risk decision to Commercial Relationship Managers.
• CSAM - Responsible for managing a team of Special Assets managers, providing leadership and direction with respect
to negotiating and restructuring the assigned vulnerable portfolio with the goal of minimizing losses and maximizing
recoveries.
Job Performance:
• Portfolio performance: maintain a high-quality lending portfolio of the business along with commensurate risk based
return.
• Maintain a high quality of underwriting and presentation standards vis-a-vis Credit Applications.
• Controlling Commercial NPL & credit loss rates,
• Managing the Special Assets portfolio, ensuring maximum recoveries, write backs and interest reversals.
• Providing the required service TATs (Turn-Around-Time) to the business,
• Contributing to bottom line numbers,
• Ensuring product profitability is maintained,
• Managing the operational risk elements of Commercial business.
• Minimum post graduate level in accountancy/commerce/economics such as MBA. Minimum 20 years of risk experience
of which at least 5 years as a Senior Risk manager.
• Required: Relevant professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, CFA, etc.
• Robust knowledge of risk analysis/assessment; Knowledge of Risk governance processes, risk appetite, underwriting
standards; Experience of Central Bank regulations, Capital adequacy and ICAAP
• Extended experience in financial statement analysis with the ability to readily identify weaknesses and strengths;
• Demonstrated experience and ability to make the right decisions in order ensure that only quality assets are booked at
the appropriate limit levels;
• Ability to satisfactorily resolve risk related queries/problems arising from the Commercial Business Units.
• Good computer skills required for job performance/analysis/report writing.
• Satisfactory man-management skills and ability to provide guidance to junior analysts and branch analysts;
• Very strong writing skills with the ability to provide concise/precise information as required by the Management.
