IFS - Finance - Finance Manager

Line of Service Finance Partners are key individuals in the Strategic Finance Team. Rather than being aligned to a specific Finance function, they have oversight across the entire landscape of finance activities within their assigned LoS. They are responsible for providing the interface between the LoS and the finance team - working closely with LoS COOs to ensure that the financial services needs of the LoS are met. This role also provides oversight of LoS challenges and performance, helping Core Finance teams to better support the specific issues faced in LoS. The LoS Business Partner supports the team lead in managing all strategic and tailored Finance services to the LoS and ensuring that the LoS is receiving fully dedicated internal support for all their strategic needs. Finally, the LoS Finance Business Partners undertake the final tailoring and interpretation of Finance Reports to enable LoS decision making, largely in collaboration with the LoS Business Operations Partners

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for communicating all finance support required from Central Finance Function - be that ledger / journal support for provisioning of AR / WIP, or generation and tailoring of LoS specific management information

  • Provide final value add analysis and interpretation of Financial Reports provided by Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A;”) Team, as well as other “decision making” support to key LoS stakeholders

  • Accountability for reporting LoS Financial Performance, based on the “single version of the truth” reports that are delivered by the FP&A; team

  • Lead LoS budgeting, planning & investment discussions, facilitating the completion of templates prepared by FP&A; teams and justify assumptions contained within plans

  • Interface between Finance Team and business to ensure delivery of financial services from Core Finance Team meets / exceeds the expectations set out in the agreed SLAs

  • Interface between Finance and Business Operations, supporting the creation of customer centric, insightful management reports

  • Advisor to business leads on the best way to utilize finance principles, programs and processes to drive competitive advantage

  • Review and understand both current Regional & Global financial strategy, objectives and financial initiatives

  • Support the ongoing measurement and improvement of service provision of the Core Finance Team

  • Assist the business leader to define and shape regional finance objectives and initiatives

  • Support the LoS Leader to identify and prioritize key finance initiatives in terms of impact, implementation requirements and work with relevant team to scope

  • Ensure the successful delivery of finance initiatives during the establishment, implementation and conclusion phases, in alignment with set objectives and within agreed time frame

  • Provide recommendations to business leads that are relevant to respective finance initiatives

  • Oversee initiative milestones and deliverables. Ensure that key achievements and team contributions are highlighted

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, required documentation and presentations to the LoS Leader, the Management and all stakeholders

  • Support the LoS Partner Team in the assessment of strategic financial decisions

  • Capture templates and standards in a repository to build the team's own knowledge management database

  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures

  • Act as a key resource and liaison to other functional areas of the business, building collaborative cross-functional relationships as needed

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field required

  • Master’s Degree or Masters in Business Administration preferred

  • Fluency in written and spoken English, proficiency in Arabic is an advantage

  • 5+ years’ experience in financial business partner or business operations

  • Experience in the Professional Services industry in a top tier Big 4 firm preferred

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Affinity to work with quantitative data, develop and own simple or complex models

  • Ability to lead strategic discussions with Senior Management and translate them into an action plan with a thorough understanding of the requirements and effects

  • Ability to influence Partners of LoS, Function Leads to meet the Finance support needs of the business, while maintaining a strong working relationship with managers across the organization

  • Willingness and interest to frequently interact with and reach out to Partners and Principals and relevant stakeholder to implement initiatives

  • Ability to work within an unstructured environment

  • Understanding of the LoS’s strategy, various practices and platforms/service offerings

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent team building and relationship building capabilities

  • Ability to draw information from several areas and transfer requests and solutions to Specialized Teams, Resource Hubs and Local Teams within the Finance function

  • Excellent project management and change management skills

  • Strong customer service orientation with ability to use patience and diplomacy to handle issues

  • Ability to quickly understand key business challenges and strategic objectives and align Finance support services accordingly
