IMEA Chief Commercial Officer

We Offer

You will be a member of the IMEA regional leadership team, reporting directly to our Regional CEO and functionally to the Global Chief Commercial Officer. You will lead the development of a regional commercial strategy differentiating DAMCO in the market place and at the same time ensure a long term sustainable value proposition to Damco’s customer segments.

Leading a team of highly competent and motivated commercial professionals, you will provide functional leadership and guidance to our commercial organization across the IMEA region (structured in 5 areas across 26 countries).

Key Responsibilities

You will manage and maximize Damco’s business results in the region, through a combination of world class account management, business development and consultative selling. More specifically:

• Accountability for the complete implementation and leadership of the global DAMCO commercial blueprint in the region, its ‘ways of working’ with ensuing delivery of objectives, KPI’s and metrics
• Lead the ongoing development and conversion of the region / area sales pipeline, supporting required result delivery across all customer segments, sales channels and geographies
• Actively participate and contribute to DAMCO’s Global Commercial Strategy, reporting to the Global Chief Commercial Officer
• Accountable for the delivery of CM1 (gross profit) & sales budgets and targets for the IMEA region, through maintaining and growing existing customers, and acquiring new business
• Lead the business planning assumptions, sales forecasts and budget development.
• Lead the Solution Sales team across IMEA to develop and deliver on the Solution sales growth and new customer segments identified for the respective countries and verticals
• Accountable for ensuring that commercial practices support requisite financial reporting and/or legislative requirements, and are aligned with corporate ethics and DAMCO’s core values.
• Develop a performance management culture and personally coach the commercial management team members, visibly driving and ‘owning’ capability improvement.
• Accountable for the development and deployment of the area Trade Lane Strategies and plans, developed within the global trade lane framework and in joint ownership with Global/Regional Product owners.

Furthermore you will expected to support the global programs for commercial talent development and managing a strong commercial talent pipeline for critical roles across the globe and the region.

Who we are looking for

You hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree and 10+years’ experience from a senior commercial leadership role; ideally with experience in logistics services, freight forwarding and/or supply chain industry. You bring a proven track record of leading, managing and growing a sizeable commercial organization, and your experience in a complex global matrix, multi-cultural organization will be crucial to success.

A strong relationship builder, you will have a proven track record of identifying, developing and managing customers at the strategic and key account level.

You are a strategic thinker, getting inspiration from a broad industry perspective, with the ability to understand trends and to translate strategy into deployable action plans.

You will have a people orientated leadership style that fosters a dynamic, positive work environment in your team and across the IMEA commercial organisation.
