Instructional Technology Manager

The Manager of Instructional Technology promotes technology integration across schools and other IAT campuses and coordinates the planning, development, implementation and Evaluation of instructional practices to ensure that all meet and exceed IAT Standards. The Manager works collaboratively with the administrative and instructional staff and communicates effectively with all stockholders.

He/she effectively manages the technology staff in the instructional technology department to ensure quality service to schools and other IAT campuses, which includes – but not limited to – supporting and implementing educational systems, managing technology professional development for teachers, leading a team of application developers to develop software applications for the system, and maintain an effective help desk system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Manager of Instructional Technology shall:
• Establish and promote high standards and expectations for existing technology performance.
• Ensure coordination of services and articulation between the secondary and college levels of the instructional programs by communicating frequently with supervisors, department chairpersons and principals on a regular basis.
• Directs the planning, budgeting, and operations of the Applications Development department.
• Coordinates project initiation, prioritization, and information technology resources allocation.
• Provides technical leadership for administrative systems.
• Serves as a technical resource to departments regarding information technology needs.
• Advises and consults with other departments on production software issues, concerns, problems, and questions.
• Provides oversight and serves as an interface to executive management for large, campus-wide administrative system upgrades.
• Evaluates programming techniques and training needs then selects and implements training as required.
• Recommends selection of, trains or directs training of, supervisors and coordinators, and evaluate performance of professional staff.
• Attend regional and international conferences in the field of technology integration to represent IAT and learn about state-of-the-art trends in the field.
• Meet with technology providers to evaluate available resources and tools.
• Conduct research about advancements in technology tools and resources to inform decision-making.
• Facilitate school participation in special activities, for example IT contests and competitions.
• Serve on IAT Technological Education Conference organizing committee.
• Perform other duties related to the integration of technology as assigned.
