The Solution Manager is the solution expert, spanning one or more areas of expertise. They enter a deal after it’s been developed and to a large extent selected/qualified. They develop detailed solution artifacts, dependencies, costs cases, SOWs and maintain end to end responsibility and accountability for the entire engagement.

Responsibilities
Lead medium complexity engagements, renegotiations or base growth engagements
Own technical solution from inception through proposal/signing
Own costing, solution definition, technical value proposition
Increase competitive solutioning (MDS) across all engagements with a target of 100% for >10M deals
Leverage our Service Line and Engineering Practice structure to deploy best practices
Improve modular component usage within all Solutions
Infuse our IP into all solutions
Set a “refuse to lose” tone and attitude among your engagement team and lead by example to ensure IBM is delivering a superior client experience through our solution development.
Consistently developing technical solution strategies and providing cost targets that are market competitive. Present a technical solution with compelling business value that includes IBM innovation, provide unique differentiation, and integrate other IBM brands.
Lead the IBM technical response efforts and be accountable for the quality and accuracy of all materials delivered to the client. Place a significant focus on the client’s business objectives and ensure solutions will meet those objectives and minimize solution gaps as measured post contract.
Demonstrate technical competence to evaluate, present, defend, and sell technical solutions to clients. Inspect and validate the teams work products to ensure the solution and contract match.
Be viewed as a strong partner and willing collaborator with Sales, Services Lines and other Lines of Business
Execute the engagement process completely and ensure auditability on the deals you lead.
Mentor others, produce reusable assets and intellectual capital
Support onboarding of new clients and related delivery handovers
Participate in client meetings to collect requirements and present solutions/proposals
Translates offerings and solutions and how these translate into high client-value solutions.
Provides technical leadership on significant proposals for high profile client solutions.
Leads the development of the overall technical solution and ensures the supporting architecture will meet the clients business plan.
Innovation, thought leadership and asset reuse as part of solution creation
Is guided by IBM and OpenGroup (ITAC) Certification standards for technical and professional

At least 10 years experience in Professional IT Services with exposure to different technologies
At least 5 years experience in IT Infrastructure Solutions Design, architecture and Pre-Sales
Good knowledge of Cloud Solutions and infrastructure (servers, virtualization, storage, NW …)
At least 3 years experience in consultancy skills: good communication, articulation and presentation capabilities
