Laboratory Technician - General

> Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Medical Technology or a related Life Science (include courses in chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, mathematics, biological sciences and statistics).

> Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.

> Knowledge of laboratory safety regulations.

> Analytical and problem solving skills.

> Accuracy, attentiveness and willingness to under responsibilities including but not limited to the scope of the post.

> Excellent written and oral communication skills.

> Excellent computer skills.

> DHA license to practice in Dubai UAE.

> Fluent in spoken & written English, also Arabic is added advantage.

Experience
> Combination of education (degree or certificate) and specialized or on-the-job training for minimum 3 years including blood/specimen collection.

> Experience in working in an accredited or well run laboratory (minimum 2 years).

Receiving samples from sample collection area.

Sample acceptance and rejection.

Generating PID BARCODE for the Samples.

Transport of the sample to the main lab.

Prepare samples and reagents for testing according to laboratory policies.

Responsible for the accuracy, interpretation and reporting of all test results according to laboratory policies.

Perform routine maintenance on equipment and quality control.

Carry out testing activities as per standard operating procedures of the laboratory.

Perform clerical and support services as needed, such as answering the telephone, calling STATS and alerting values to the appropriate department or clinician, disposing of contaminated specimens, control of inventory, etc.

Integrate instrument data, quality control and tested principles for accurate result reporting.

Assist with the collection and analysis of laboratory data and process computer generated lab reports.

Perform procedures for quality control and quality assurance of all laboratory analyses.

Provide highly technical and complex information clearly to physicians, medical personnel and the patients.

Conduct chemical analyses of blood, urine, cerebro-spinal, pleural discharge, synovial, bronchial, ascitic fluids.

Study and report blood cells to determine their relation to various physiological and pathological conditions.

Helping for blood collection as and when required.
