 Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to manage, maintain and continually improve the formal Safety Management System (SMS) of Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central (OMDW).  The Airside Safety Systems Manager is responsible for delivering the Company’s stated safety policies and objectives, and in accordance with the various applicable Regulatory, legal and industry best practice frameworks.

 The Safety Management System, though administered by the Airside Operations Compliance Assurance unit, has broad accountability and jurisdiction across all Airside operations in accordance with the Aerodrome’s operating Certificate.

  
Qualifications and Education: 

The appointee shall have, at a minimum, degree-level qualification in a field related to aviation and/or similar industrial safety discipline/s.  Additional professional accreditations and affiliations are highly desirable.  Sound functional knowledge of the practical application of these skills, particularly structured safety systems, shall be demonstrable.

The appointee is required to maintain a valid U.A.E driving license for light vehicles and be capable of attaining an Airside Driving Permit (ADP).  Prior experience driving on the maneuvering area of busy airports is highly desirable.


Experience and Knowledge: 

The appointee must have at least 5 years of relevant experience, including previous managerial level and strategic responsibility.

‘Relevant experience’ shall ideally have been achieved in the airport industry, however other aviation disciplines, high-technology, complex industrial, construction and high-volume public environments may also apply.
