Material Expediting Services Coordinator
Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Material Expediting Services Coordinator JOB DUTIES Reporting to the MESC Lead or Supervisor, the MESC works with the material planning and logistics to ensure that the material ordered arrives on time at the PMO mission execution site. This responsibility is to ensure that the time lines for the monitoring and management of the material flow from vendor, through 3PL , to final delivery are met, that exceptions are mitigated and reported, and the PMO is continually aware of the status of reroute material. The EL exception management report tool from the EL Dashboard suite of reports will be the key reporting tool for this purpose EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS HS diploma, BA/BS a plus WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED: 0-3 years past experience in freight forwarding, trucking, warehousing or related role. This is an entry level position KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS LANGUAGE SKILLS: Excellent written and oral communications skills Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees at all levels. Ability to speak, writes, read and comprehends English to a 12" grade level. OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Basic knowledge and understanding of the duties and tasks associated with an SOP, with a PO, and the PMO requirements for on-site availability. Good oral and written skills, intermediate level competency in in computer PROBLEM SOLVING Quick learner from the standpoint of understanding acceptable deviation from schedule, understand the actions being taken to mitigate the effects of any delays, and the tenacious mentality to accept nothing less the on-time performance. DETAIL ORIENTATION Detail oriented and organized; able to read and understand the reported exceptions for multiple task orders or contracts. RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Material Expediting Services Lead or Supervisor, Logistics Services Lead or Supervisor, and 3PL POCs (1st Level): daily; Logistics Services and PMO staff (2nd level): weekly during joint staff meetings.
