Meetings & Events Manager - Weddings
Key Responsibilities Reporting to Director of Sales, you will be responsible for the sales, service, planning, organization, communication and overall execution of weddings and wedding related events including anniversaries, elopements, rehearsal dinners, brunches and booking wedding room blocks.
Oversee all on-site details for executing group events, develop and follow checklist/itinerary, and troubleshoot event problems. Serve as liaison and contact person for coordinating details of events with clients, outside vendors, meeting planners, and others involved in events. Design, confirm, and communicate room layouts and set-up requirements for special events.

- Accepts all requests for proposals and pursues all leads for wedding group business, including responding to inquiries and executing group/event proposals and contracts within expected time frame.
- Presents, negotiates and successfully sells lodging, food and beverage, and hotel activities/products/programs to groups in target markets.
- Converts prospective clientele into committed customers through on-site visits/meetings, property tours, and proactive communication.
- Develops and distributes all communications relating to planning and execution of group functions, including, but not limited to, group resumes, banquet event orders (BEO's) and room sets according to established guidelines.
- Prepares, presents and collects payment for event pre-estimates by required due dates.
- Being able to qualify and analyze the needs and expectations of the wedding client is imperative. Clear communication of the client's expectations must be communicated to each internal department in the form of accurate and complete banquet event orders, catering contracts, lodging requirements and billing
- Possesses current, up-to-date knowledge pertaining to all in house products, pricing, and strategies relevant to the Group/Wedding market segment
- Communicating client requirements in a timely and accurate manner to all internal departments as required, ensuring delivery of superior guest service.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Hospitality Management / Sales & Marketing.
- Should have min. 2 years’ experience in similar role in a reputed Hotel in Dubai
- Excellent organizational/administrative skills with office management experience
- Ability to prioritize tasks & to manage workload using own initiative
- Ability to multi-task & work under pressure with limited resources
- Familiar with budget presentations
- Excellent communication skills in English & Arabic (oral and written)
- Knowledge of Opera S&C; system
