JOB SUMMARY
Working as the In House Graphic Designer this position supports the marketing team in the development of visual solutions to the communication needs of the department, which includes the creation of visual concepts along with the adaptation of existing artworks and master creative concepts into other sets of deliverables, such as flyers, posters, brochures, html’s, menus, invitations, to name a few, in adherence with brand guidelines.
SCOPE/BUSINESS CONTEXT
• Prepares through creative design of collateral including flyers, brochures and marketing tools for the promotion of the hotel
• Working with F&B department and S&M department for restaurant promotions to create insert menus, flyers, table promotions, menu tags and, posters.
• Use creative flare to create communication tools for hotel promotions including quarterly F& B Cards and Newsletter
• Prepare hotel presentations
• Creation of HTML’s
• Manage in hotel TV screens and update content.
• Prepare generic hotel advertising or specific F&B advertising for print. Re-size artwork and ensure delivery to publishing house.
• Liaise with printers for specifications and ensure printing quality is upheld.
• Conduct e-commerce marketing with the guidance and support of the Marketing Communication Manager
• Research and develop hyperlinks with other reputable websites.
• Ongoing responsibility to check websites for content and update if required
• Manage the hotel image library and update regularly
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
• Creating illustrations, printing advertising displays and posters for F&B and spa
• Design, update and layout of menus for restaurants and bars
• Creative high quality designs reflecting the brand identity and brand voice of each individual property or/ and outlet
• Design and layout of newsletter, presentations, business forms, buffet tags, charts, sketches, proposal covers, book covers, flyers, templates, posters business cards, menus, ads, top banner, gif banner, graphics for online advertising and display ads
• Photo editing
• Corporate branding, brochures, logo design, page layout design, trade show displays, corporate web design, promotional pieces, homepage & banner design
• Creating all marketing promotional items like designing brochures, newsletters, advertisements, editorials, F&B menus for restaurants, bars
• Design and production of print, identity, packaging, multimedia, web design and web applications logos and presentation
• Responsible to give high end graphic solutions
• Handle distribution of approved hotel images (library/database) to local publications as well as marketing material to third parties and departments
• Planning and tracking of e-Mail Shots in accordance with company policy, S&M & F&B
• Prepare marketing material for F&B outlets and all promotions
• Update F&B website with images and creative in cooperation with the eCommerce Executive
• Preparation of promotions and activities for newsletter (hard & soft copy)
• Creation and direction of promotional programs for food and beverage promotions and initiatives, including Marriott International promotions in cooperation with the outlet manager
• Prepare hotel presentations
• Prepare generic hotel advertising or specific F&B advertising for print. Re-size artwork and ensure delivery to publishing house.
• Be aware and adhere to safety procedures
REQUIREMENTS
CANDIDATE PROFILE
• First language to be English. Arabic will be an advantage
• Excellent skills to use Apple Mac/ Windows and publishing programs including Quark Express, Photoshop, Microsoft and Email
• Knows the specifications for printing related matters
• Creation of HTML’s and gif banner
• File conversions: PDF, mpg, jpg, tiff, eps, ai, mp3, mp4, avi
• Experience in Graphic Design
• Hotel experience is not a must
• No management experience required
• Hotel management or Graphic Design Diploma (not essential)
