Operation Engineer

To provide mechanical engineering support to customers with a specific focus on Valve design and modification. Assist in establishing a reputation with key customers for providing consistently high standards of service and technical engineering solutions. Ensuring that all mechanical engineering work carried out meets the requirements of the company’s policies, Quality System and NATA Accreditation.

• Build closer relationship between Engineering & Production by gaining feedback from all personnel
• Attend Engineering / Production / Scheduling meetings as required
• Attend toolbox chats, input in QHSE issues and initiatives as required
• Conduct training for production as required.
• Responsible for engineering input into production requirements
• Ensure smooth flow of information
• Scope specification and task delegation
• Scheduling of time & working hours to ensure on-time delivery where appropriate.
• Produce full mechanical certification packages for valve modifications and the necessary drawings and/or clear work instructions as required.
• Ensure that Quality Policies and Procedures are adhered to and should engineering identify areas of non-conformance or system improvement, then this shall be brought to the attention of the Quality department to take appropriate action.
• Design and develop solutions to mechanical engineering problems.
• Check design and modification calculations and drawings.
• Produce clear and detailed reports for submission to customers.
• Liaise with and present to customers on both technical and general business requirements where appropriate.
• Carry out site work requirements in a proficient and professional manner.
• Travel to other countries in the Region as required on Company business.
• Manage specific projects, ensuring that time, financial and quality parameters are achieved.
• Identify opportunities to develop business.
• Assist in the development of the company’s knowledge base.

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering Degree, Diploma of Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent, or minimum of 5 years engineering experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer literate

Preferred Qualifications

• Oil & Gas Experience
• Experience in Valve design/repair
