An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new ORGANIC CHEMIST to join our expanding team at Exova in DUBAI
The successful candidate will be working in the organic testing division of a busy commercial chemistry laboratory
The role involves:
- Performing routine GC analysis of water & soil samples.
- Assisting in preparing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Assisting in modifying the existing analytical SOPs as and when required.
- Reviewing the analytical data before releasing / sending to the client.
- Graduation - Chemistry /Science stream
- Minimum 1 - 2 years’ experience in organic analysis
- Substantial and demonstrable Chemistry laboratory testing experience, ideally gained in organic testing working in a commercial test house.
- Experience in chromatography data systems.
- Experience in LIMS systems
Extensive experience of the preparation and analysis of soil and water samples for: -
- OCPs by GC–ECD.
- BTEX and GRO by Headspace GC-FID.
- Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) by GC-FID.
- Poly Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH), phenols and PCB’s by GC-MS.
- BTEX, Trihalomethanes (THM), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) by Headspace GC-MS.
Analytical laboratory organic chemist with:
- Complete flexibility and ready to work overtime / nightshifts when required
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Reporting skills
- Customer service aptitude
