Project Engineer
Taylor Sterling is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join an award winning international contractor in Dubai, UAE. You will be reporting into the Project Manager.
The Project Engineer is responsible for the overall technical coordination of the construction process (in conjunction with the senior management team), through the co-ordination and documentation of design and program requirements.
The role provides a link between design, building services and sub-contracts to ensure project objectives are met.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Management throughout the value management process to maximise the financial benefit of the design
- Manage changes to engineering design whilst being mindful of budgetary requirements
- Assist Contracts Manager/Administrators to prepare sub contract packages
- Maintain awareness of contractual obligations of both the head contract and sub contract
- Act as a conduit for communicating relevant information as appropriate to consultants, authorities, site supervisors, construction workers and sub-contractors
- Monitor and review the performance of direct reports and provide leadership, mentoring and coaching
- Ensure all direct reports are aware of the project's goals and objectives, and the connection of their role to these goals and objectives
- Drive performance by setting standards, objectives and holding people accountable for meeting them
- Ensure that resources are utilised in an effective manner which enable direct reports to meet standards and deliver objectives
- Assist the management team to create and implement the Project Management Plan
- Co-ordinate the activities of design management and provide a link between the design and construction to ensure the buildability of a design
- Review design to assess and ensure its compliance with requirements of regulatory authorities
- Assist with the integration of services and design co-ordination during project planning
- Undertake programming, planning and forecasting to ensure construction activities take place within overall construction program
- Monitor progress, identify and report on issues that may affect the program
- Provide regular reports to Project Manager, head office and clients via Project Manager
- Ensure quality assurance processes and standards for a construction project are adhered to
- Inspect the work of sub-contractors for technical compliance and quality of work
- Assist project management to develop and implement a site safety plan with particular focus on identifying particular OH&S hazards
- Contribute to improvements to existing designs
- Manage and resolve all engineering issues as they are risen by clients, authorities, senior management and project staff
