Relationship Manager - Commercial Banking

To manage and oversee the given portfolio of corporate accounts in the branch, source new business, analyse credit proposals, maintain credit quality and generate revenue towards achievement of the budget.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Follow all guidelines laid down in the “Guidelines for lending officers” of the Bank.
• Follow guidelines laid down in the “Credit Policy” document.
• Credit:
• Primary credit accountability for all lending decisions on accounts within job holder’s portfolio.
• To assess and analyse credit risk in depth and take responsibility for the preparation of comprehensive limit applications and regular annual reviews in timely fashion.
• To proactively identify potential problem accounts at an early stage and recommend appropriate remedial action to minimise credit losses.
• To obtain timely approvals for customer requests (excess, adhoc, etc).
• To identify, market, source and book new business, and develop and monitor existing commercial relationships so as to maximise revenues.
• To assist in achieving the assigned budget
• To develop a regular calling programme with corporate clients and to market the wide range of corporate, trade finance and treasury products.
• To provide market feedback and competitor analysis in the formulation of new and innovative product.
• Shared responsibility for marketing for liability products in an over banked and price sensitive market.
• To regularly check that all administrative and control aspects pertaining to the portfolio are in place.
• To assist in training and development of subordinate/s on an ongoing basis.

Skills Education level required:
• University degree or equivalent qualification

Experience:
• At least 3 years’ experience in relationship management and minimum 6 years banking experience.
• Various training on Credit / corporate management
