Job Description
Reports to: Sales Director
Position Summary: Responsible for identifying new Sales prospects, developing sales strategies and leading the sales effort within the territory. This position requires an ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships. An established strong network of contacts within the region is essential as is an ability to converse to client executive management level. An in depth market knowledge of the North Africa area is required. This position is the day to day face of Sales within the territory and is an externally focused position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Direct selling to the consumer or end user
• Build and maintain new and existing customer relationships drawing upon links within current network
• Constantly review your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed sales targets
• Identify and qualify sales prospects/opportunities
• Manage the prospect / opportunity from initial identification to enquiry stage and development of the proposal
• Develop sales strategies for the area to meet and exceed sales targets
• Gain a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements and develop sales and proposal strategies accordingly
• Presenting the product or service in a structured professional manner at all times • Listen to customer requirements and present appropriately to make a sale
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers in person and via telephone calls and emails
• Act as a contact between Exterran and its existing and potential markets
• Negotiate the terms of an agreement and close sales
• Challenge any objections with a view to getting the customer to buy
• Record sales and order information appropriately
• Feed future buying trends back to Leadership Team and customers as required
• Attend team meeting and share best practice with colleagues
• Build internal relationships
• Gather market and customer information
• Represent Company at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations
• Travel to meet potential customers as and when required
• Must comply with Company HSEQ policies and procedures at all times
• Perform any other job functions as assigned
Required Skills or Tools:
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Fluent English speaking essential, Arabic and French speaking also a preference
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Can Do, pro-active and flexible attitude to work is essential
• Proficient using complete Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
• Must be able to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
• Must be proficient in working in a multi-cultural region
Preferred Education/Experience:
• Bachelor Degree in an engineering profession is preferred
• Performance driven sales professional with >8 years’ experience in face to face customer sales in North Africa.
• Proven experience in high value project sales for capital equipment and services. Experience in selling surface production facilities and services (eg. rotating equipment and/or process equipment).
