          Application Technologists are specialists whose primary goal is to guide Flavourists in the flavour development process. To do so, Application Technologists analyze current flavour trends, forecast future trends and assess consumer preferences.

          As a Senior Application Technologist – Beverages, based in Dubai you will be a key player in our regional flavour application team, reporting directly to the Local Techical Manager Middle East. You will mainly be responsible for evaluating flavours in food applications and selecting the optimal flavours for customer projects.

          • Execute daily brief-related tasks and apply knowledge during the flavour selection, evaluation and application development
          • Serve as technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for specific applications
          • Lead evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
          • Select optimal flavours for projects according to specified requirements ( customer, regulatory, legislation, cost) and suggest improvements for the most common applications
          • Establish and maintain effective relationships with a limited number of customers; able to gain their trust and respect
          • Actively maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles
          • Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in specific applications
          • Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EH&S; policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines

          Your professional profile includes:

          Primary Qualifications:
          • Polytechnic or in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology and 4 - 6 years’ experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area (preferred)
          • Masters Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, and 2 - 3 years’ experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area (preferred)
          • in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology and 0 - 1 years’ experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area (preferred)
          • Understanding of most food applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in customers’ food manufacturing environment
          • Basic understanding of many of the flavour reactions/interactions in common food products and the ability to recommend flavour modifications based on performance
          • Project management skills with the complete ability to lead large development projects
          • Ability to lead projects for customers including customer visits
          • Expert technical problem solving skills in specific applications and basic skills in multiple applications areas
          • Ability to translate market trends into innovative products for key customers
          • Passionate about flavors, food and tasting; Well-developed tasting skills
          • Striving to always achieve more, and exceed customers and managers expectations
          • Creativity, Out-of-the-Box thinking with well-developed business acumen
          • Proficient in English (spoken and written)
          • Well-developed communication and presentation skills
          • Proficiency in using common PC applications
          • Ability to travel within GCC and oversees
