Senior Corporate Communications Analyst – CEEME
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications – India & CEEMEA (HCCI), this role is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive PR strategy for its businesses across the region through three key programmes, namely: (a) Corporate (b) retail and (c) institutional. The role will be responsible for day to day management of media activity on the Gulf & CEE desk and directing PR agencies in various regional markets to deliver key business goals. Whilst the main focus will be the United Arab Emirates and Poland, he/she is expected to oversee coordination of PR activities in the broader Gulf and CEE region (secondary markets) and liaise closely with sales, marketing and Corp Comms staff in this region.
Across all these responsibilities, the objective is to raise brand awareness and to protect Franklin Templeton’s reputation, products, services and overall brand image in the region in keeping with the global corporate communications programme. The objective is to positively position Franklin Templeton Investments to external audiences—including the general public, the retail and the institutional market (including Sovereign Wealth Funds)—via the media, as a premier global investment management organization with a solid team of investment managers, comprehensive line of investment solutions and strong corporate reputation.
Responsibilities:
Develop a Corporate PR programme for the region
Partner with HCCI, Senior Director CEEMEA and Country Heads to develop a regular and strategic corporate programme in the region.
Work with approved spokespersons to further develop capabilities, and identify and develop additional key regional spokesperson through media training as appropriate.
Review and update key messages and overall positioning for the businesses at a regional and country level
Develop and manage a robust strategy for the retail PR programme in the region
Partner with HCCI to develop and lead strategic and creative pitch campaigns to promote Franklin Templeton Investments' products (focus funds) and capabilities across the retail channel to support sales and marketing campaigns and activities.
Proactively seek to enhance FT’s profile via a comprehensive media relations programme for retail publications.
Develop and manage a comprehensive Institutional PR strategy to highlight our capabilities in the region
Partner closely with HCCI to develop a sustained PR programme for the institutional market.
Build and strengthen existing media relationships with “institutional” reporters and target and develop new ones – via phone, email and in person.
Manage the Corp Comms Desk and PR agency(ies) as appropriate
Manage the Corp Comms desk in the Gulf region and Poland ensuring adherence to all Corp Comms regulations and internal media policy.
Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to ensure coordinated approach on campaign promotion and to ensure these groups are adhering to internal media & public discussion guidelines where applicable
Manage PR agency professionally to set goals and ensure timely deliverables of PR goals.
Media Training (Train/Coach/Support Spokespeople & Others) and Crisis Communications
Provide regular coaching and guidance in message development to Franklin Templeton’s regional based investment managers & executives – including attending media interviews.
Serve as Public Information Officer (PIO) for the CEEME offices.
PR Measurement and Evaluation
Capture metrics for the region for internal reporting requirements
Review quarterly report data and share insights internally to highlight program successes and key trends for the region.
Internal communications
Support internal comms efforts by writing stories/articles that will highlight key milestones, achievements or newsworthy content for the regional businesses.
Qualifications
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism or Communication or equivalent work experience.
4 to 7 years of relevant PR experience across one or all business channels (discretionary, advisory and institutional) preferably within an asset management environment. Candidates with relevant PR agency experience will also be considered.
Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable
Thorough understanding of strategic communication and the financial industry is essential.
Must be adept at handling multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities and achieving objectives.
Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and be assertive and relentless in the pursuit of making certain that company news gets appropriate attention among the media and the public.
Able to partner with a diverse set of stakeholders and communicate across various levels of management.
Superior writing and editing skills required. Experience writing for a variety of communication vehicles: press releases, newsletters, memos, Intranet content, talking points, presentations, video, etc.
Able to represent the group and company in a professional manner at all times.
Able to present intelligent solutions and processes for solving difficult problems.
Able to make decisions and manage follow-through.
Encourages others to achieve objectives through effective use of planning, prioritizing and goal
setting.
Proven ability to manage personnel, both internal staff and PR Agency team. The ability to stimulate creativity is critical.
Ensure that staff and consultant performance issues are managed effectively and appropriate feedback is provided to internal staff and PR Agency team related to all aspects of support provided for the CEEME PR programme.
