Senior Geotechnical Engineer-Civil Engineering

Robert Bird Group are seeking highly motivated skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer with thorough knowledge of Geotechnical design and its application in construction. Applicant will have good judgement skills backed by extensive knowledge of theory. It is important the applicant fully appreciates software and its limitations and has experience in designing a variety of Geotechnical solutions. Must have a general knowledge of Geotechnical design software such as Plaxis 2D, Plaxis 3D, Oasys Frew, Wallap, Oasys PDISP, Oasys ALP and Slope W and be to verify and critique the output.
The candidate will be required to have at least 8 years Geotechnical design and management experience and to possess the confidence and communication skills required to collaborate with our clients and project consultants on our global projects.
You will be a team player with the ability to work as part of a team of experienced engineers and producing high quality, accurate Geotechnical Design in a timely manner.

- Proven technical capacity and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in Geotechnical engineering design in broad areas related to Civil Engineering, Buildings, marine etc.
- Proven record of working independently and communicating effectively with colleagues, clients and contractors
- You will be a team player with the ability to assist work alongside our team of experienced engineers and producing high quality, accurate Geotechnical design in a timely manner.
- Excellent organisational, time management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
- A proactive approach to engineering tasks
- Ability to apply lateral thinking to challenging engineering problems
- Confidence with developing innovative practical solutions.
- Flexibility and mobility (office based design and site based design)
- Thorough understanding of Geotechnical solutions.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
