Specialist / Consultant Family Medicine
The post holder will be required to:
• Provide patient focused Family Practitioner services and ensure optimal clinical care.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team with a personalized and caring attitude.
• Provide leadership, supervision and support to the nursing staff.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• To provide appropriate care and services to patients of all age ranges and level of health care needs and as per the granted privileges.
• A specialist under supervision will provide services within the scope of service of that specialty under the direction of the relevant head of clinical service. The clinical head together with the Chief Medical Officer will grant the practitioner clinical privileges in accordance with his assessed skills and expertise.
• Provides follow up care to patients as required on an out-patient basis.
• To provide appropriate health promotion and preventative health care advice to all patients.
• Provides primary health care for Al Zahra Private Hospital staff.
• Provides accurate and concise medical records, as per the policy and standards for medical documentation.
• Refers problematic and seriously ill patients to the relevant Consultant on call for review and advice regarding management.
• To provide support to the ER team by assessing, examining and consulting minor triage cases when requested to do so.
• Ensures optimal documentation and medical handover for patients seen through the department.
• To serve on hospital committees as requested.
• Such other duties as are reasonably requested by the Head of Department or Chief Medical Officer.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
• To participate in change management programmes within the organization.
• To participate in improvement initiatives within the department.
• To deal appropriately with complaints when necessary.
• To assess risk, report incidents and to participate in Risk Management process.
• To promote efficient and effective communication within the organization.
• To foster interdepartmental liaison in order to ensure maintenance of established Level of Service Agreements.
• To be aware of hospital fire policy and emergency procedures.
• To accept additional reasonable responsibilities as requested by the Medical Director.
Qualification:
MBBS or equivalent
MRCP* or equivalent
Western Qualification preferred
Experience:
Minimum 5 years post specialization in Family Medicine
Personal Abilities / Competencies:
Critical decision making skills
Strong customer service ethic
Good interpersonal and communication skills
IT literate
License / Registration:
Valid DHA / MOH / HAAD license / DHA Eligibility Letter
