We also deliver postgraduate education to Officers in the Qatar Armed Forces through the Joaan Bin Jassim Joint Command and Staff College in Doha.

Key Purpose
To oversee the design and delivery of training programmes, including development training and simulator training packages as well as foundation and basic rating courses across ATC disciplines to meet or exceed operational training requirements in compliance with applicable timeframes, regulations and quality standards
Reason for role
To oversee the design and delivery of training programmes, including development training and simulator training packages as well as foundation and basic rating courses across ATC disciplines to meet or exceed operational training requirements in compliance with applicable timeframes, regulations and quality standards
Structure and reporting relationship
Position holder interacts internally with Operational ATC departments to plan provision of development training, with Safety & Compliance department to plan for provision of safety related training, and with HR to assist in ATCO Trainee selection, when required.
Externally interacts with different aviation training providers, Eurocontrol, other professional training providers and educational technology and learning content suppliers.
Leads, directs and motivates Training Specialist to ensure provision of annual training plan and any additional training requirements.
Regularly communicates with other Training Team Leaders to report on any operational or administrative issues.
Communicates with Head of Training Department to identify and resolve ongoing training requirements.
Position holder has a moderate-high degree of independence and has authorization for decision making issues at medium-high level. Some decisions must be communicated to Head of Department.

Key accountabilities
Ensure initial, development and continuation training is conducted in line with regulatory and unit requirements.
Oversee the development and implementation of dans training programmes within development training framework.
Maintain and develop National Development Program for ATCOs.
Lead and motivate a team of Training Specialists to ensure high quality development training in dans.
Monitor, measure and report to Head of Training on training development issues.
Benchmark training solutions with other providers’ courses to ensure compliance with the international standards.
Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications
Qualifications and Education:
Have held an ATC License for a minimum of 5 years in multiple ratings
Further studies and / or qualifications relevant to training, learning and development
Degree / diploma in a relevant field from an accredited university
Completion of Instructor Course and Classroom Instructional Techniques Course or similar
Experience:
Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in training course development, design and delivery within an ATS training academy environment
Experience of course leader duties in initial and development training environment
Experience in English Language Proficiency examiner duties preferred
Knowledge and skills:
Strategic thinking, business awareness and leadership skills
Thorough understanding of training development and delivery of initial and development training within ATS training academy environment
Familiar with current educational technologies and their implementation solutions
Excellent communication, organisational and presentation skills
Excellent understanding of learning, training and assessing in ATS training academy environment
Strong team orientation with emphasis on working collaboratively to achieve results
Customer service, influencing and negotiation skills
Strong creativity and innovation, including excellent organization and problem solving skills
Initiative and commitment to achieve results

Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
Additional / special features of the role
The job holder will work in a high pressure environment with demanding deadlines and will require the ability to respond rapidly and adapt priorities. The job holder might work outside ‘normal office hours’ to support Departmental Objectives
