Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material and structures using electric arc and TIG welding techniques.
Able to use an oxygen-acetylene rig to cut, heat and weld materials for fabrication and/or repair
Able to appropriately select the proper technique to fabricate and weld carbon steels, stainless steel and join stainless to carbon steel
Can weld as per requirements.
Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process
Able to layout and fabricate metal assemblies and weldments for manufacturing and construction purposes.
Able to layout and fabricate piping assemblies and weldments although may require some guidance
Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits while performing job function
