Operational
  • Observe good safe working practices at all times.
  • Carry out all painting type of works.
  • Determine work requirements and painting assignment trough review of work orders, plans or drawings.
  • Determine and implement the best lay out to achieve desired pattern
  • Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to equipment, or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers
  • Apply primers and sealers to prepare new surfaces (wall, wood, metal) for finishing coats
  • Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements and/or work orders.
  • Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
  • Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
  • Mix and match colours of paint, stain, or varnish with oil and thinning and drying additives in order to obtain desired colours and consistencies.
  • Ensure permit to work procedures are engaged.
  • Ensure job task paper work is completed correct, clearly and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Assist and support to other departments when required for various jobs other than their own discipline.
  • Other duties as directed by his supervisor.
  • Maintain all tools and equipment issued to him.
General
  • To report to work within the requested time, prior to the commencement of duty, well-groomed and dressed to the uniform standard.
  • To be fully aware of the department’s SOP’s and the fire evacuation procedures and to adhere to them at all times
  • To attend staff and development meetings as well as other designated meetings
  • To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Company and Project’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
  • To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff including 3rd party suppliers
  • To maintain maintenance records and shift-logs for all works carried out on shift.
  • To be flexible regarding schedule and equipment changes.
Experience & Competencies:
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in UAE/GCC Countries
  • English speaking
  • Experience with a similar field
  • Self-motivated with a hands-on and flexible approach and be able to adapt to unpredictable events.
  • Able to foster good relations with colleagues and other departments and be a good team player.
  • Flexibility, excellent attention to detail and ability to identify key issues
  • Able to work under stringent deadlines and high pressure environment.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum ITI Certificate or Diploma
