Personal Assistant (Legal)

A Law graduate with experiences as a Personal Assistant to VP Legal may perform a number of daily tasks, including:
• prepare and manage correspondence
• prepare and process standard legal documents including subpoenas, contracts, summonses, appeals, warrants and motions
• Arranging for the delivery of legal paperwork
• Typing correspondence and legal paperwork
• Transcribing court proceedings and other recorded meetings
• Scheduling, coordinating and confirming court dates, appointments, and meetings
• organize and coordinate legal meetings including client interviews, hearings and depositions
• maintain schedules and calendars including court diaries
• take, type and distribute minutes of meetings and interviews
• prepare forms including accident reports, courtroom requests and client applications
• proofread and edit legal documents
• set up and maintain databases and files
• Conducting research in legal matters
• Maintain calendars and schedules for a number of attorneys
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive and organized billing system
• Ensure all billable hours are accurately recorded
• Understand the basics of a number of court documents, such as summons and subpoenas make travel arrangements
• Arrange for the filing of court documents
• document and maintain case details
• handle incoming mail and calls
• communicate verbally and in writing to answer inquiries and provide information
• organize delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses and court officials
• conduct research and collate information relevant to cases
• arrange hearing dates
• follow up on pending court cases
